Sailing In Belize
|
You can bare-boat inside the largest barrier reef on this hemisphere (a
distance of 100-150 nautical miles) or, alternatively, you can take a skipper-guide and sail to the Outer Atolls.
For detailed charter information check our
Belize charter section.
Between San Pedro on
the Ambergris Caye and Placencia, you will sail turquoise
Caribbean waters, passing by hundreds of islands and unpopulated cayes - some
with names such as Caye Caulker, Caye Chapel, San George's
Caye, Goff's Caye, or Southwater and Carrie Bowe Cayes - some nameless and
deserted but all of breathtaking beauty with white sand beaches. You
will navigate between the islands, cayes, and banks of coral reef.
There will be many places to 'drop the hook' and enjoy fascinating
snorkeling or diving with manatees, windsurfing, kayaking, or just
beachcombing. You will find yourself in one of the world's most
spectacular habitats, away from the crowds but always in the
protected waters and always with land within eyesight. There will be
places to buy provisions and there are restaurants on some of the
islands but most of the time you will be buying fresh seafood from
the friendly local fishermen you will see from time to
time. For detailed charter information check our
Belize charter section.
